A Escola de Cura das Almas de Brasília (SHSB) foi fundada em setembro de 2016, com o propósito de compartilhar saberes e memórias sobre a arte de curar, por meio da bênção ou oração, utilizando o poder curativo das ervas medicinais, ancorada pela benzedeira Maria Bezerra. Para os membros da escola, o sentido da vida é encontrar o próprio dom, e o propósito da vida é oferecê-lo. Nos centros de saúde, a prática da bênção acontece na UBS 1 (Lago Norte), UBS 6 (Taguatinga) e UBS 9 em São Sebastião. Nas UCs, a escola vem atuando junto ao Programa Reconexão Cerrado, nos espaços dos Parques Ecológicos: Riacho Fundo, Asa Sul e Sucupira (Planaltina), cooperando no sentido de valorizar a sustentabilidade ambiental na relação entre biodiversidade e espiritualidade, fortalecendo os serviços ecossistêmicos, na categoria de serviços culturais, que abrangem saúde, espiritualidade e bem-estar social.
Assim, milhares de pessoas se beneficiam da escuta, orientação e oração por meio da bênção em atendimentos presenciais e virtuais.
Recursos como fitoterapia, aromaterapia, imposição de mãos e musicoterapia também são utilizados para potencializar as bênçãos, de acordo com a Medicina Tradicional, Complementar e Integrativa (MTCI). Nessa conexão entre saúde, espiritualidade e meio ambiente, a SHSB fortalece o conceito ampliado de Saúde, reunindo orações e saberes em locais apropriados para promover o bem-estar e auxiliar na saúde das pessoas.
Em dias e horários previamente anunciados e em parceria com a Secretaria de Saúde e o Instituto Brasília Ambiental, a cada ano os atendimentos se expandem e ganham espaço nos diversos relatos e convites para participar de eventos, bem como nos depoimentos daqueles que vivenciam a experiência e os benefícios da bênção.
De 2016 a 2019, os atendimentos foram realizados prioritariamente em centros de saúde, com cerca de 8.100 atendimentos. Entre 2020 e 2021, devido à pandemia de COVID-19, os atendimentos passaram a ser realizados virtualmente duas vezes por semana, em média com mais de 400 atendimentos semanais, e atualmente a lista de nomes para a bênção virtual chega a mais de 1.000 atendimentos. De 2022 até o presente, as bênçãos vêm sendo realizadas tanto presencialmente quanto de forma virtual, com mais de 18.000 atendimentos por ano.
A Escola de Benzedeiras, por meio de suas práticas de bênção, participou de aproximadamente 9 reportagens e cerca de 12 eventos, como o RAÍZES (Encontro de Erveiros, Benzedeiras, Parteiras e Pajés), o Espaço Cuidado nas XV e XVII Conferências Nacionais de Saúde, a Marcha das Margaridas, entre outros.
Os desafios atualmente enfrentados são o grande número de pessoas que recebem atendimento e o pequeno número de benzedeiras. Apesar dos treinamentos anuais, nem todas continuam no voluntariado, e a prática da benzedura não é qualificada no âmbito da PNPIC.
Entretanto, as benzedeiras que permanecem são fortalecidas em sua prática de serviço por relatos como: “Minha mãe me levava a uma benzedeira quando eu era pequena e nunca mais encontrei outra, e agora vocês estão aqui, graças a Deus” e “Hoje saí daqui melhor do que cheguei, minha dor de cabeça passou”. Assim, também com o apoio das parcerias estabelecidas, a cura segue sendo uma arte ancestral de dizer coisas boas que promove saúde e bem-estar, integra práticas com a comunidade e contribui para a valorização dos saberes e o reconhecimento da biodiversidade ambiental, elo importante entre todos os seres na natureza e nas instituições.
The Brasilia´s School of Healing Souls (SHSB) was founded in September 2016, with the purpose of sharing knowledge and memories about the art of healing, through blessing or prayer, using the healing power of medicinal herbs, anchored by the healer Maria Bezerra. For the school´s members, the meaning of life is to find one´s gift, and the purpose of life is to offer it. At the health centers, the practice of blessing takes place at UBS 1 (Lago Norte), UBS 6 (Taguatinga) and UBS 9 in São Sebastião. In the UCs, the school has been working with the Cerrado Recconection Program, at the spaces of the Ecological Parks: Riacho Fundo, Asa Sul and Sucupira (Planaltina), cooperating in order to value environmental sustainability in the relationship between biodiversity and spirituality, strengthening ecosystem services, in the category of cultural services, which cover health, spirituality and social well-being.
Thus, thousands of people benefit from listening, guidance and prayer through blessing in face-to-face and virtual services.
Resources such as herbal medicine, aromatherapy, laying on hands and music therapy are also used to enhance blessings according to Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM). In this connection between health, spirituality and the environment, SHSB strengthens the expanded concept of Health, bringing together prayers and knowledge in appropriate places to promote well-being and help people's health.
On previously announced days and times and in partnership with the Health Department and the Brasília Environmental Institute, each year the services expand and gain space in the various reports and invitations to take part in events, as well as the accounts of those who live the experience and the benefits of the blessing.
From 2016 to 2019, services were primarily provided at health centers, with around 8,100 visits. Between 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the services were provided virtually twice a week, on average with more than 400 services per week, and currently the list of names for the virtual blessing reaches more than 1,000 services. From 2022 to the present day, blessings have been provided both in person and virtually, with more than 18,000 visits a year.
The School of Healers through its blessing practices, has participated in approximately 9 news reports and around 12 events, such as RAÍZES (Meeting of Herbalist, Traditional healer, Midwives and Shamans), the Care Space at the XV and XVII National Health Conference, the March of the Daisies, among others.
The challenges currently faced are the large number of people who receive care and the small number of healers. Despite annual training, not all of them continue to volunteer, and the practice of traditional healer is not qualified under the PNPIC.
However, the healers who remain are strengthened in their practice of service by reports such as: “My mother used to take me to a traditional heale when I was little and I never found one again, and now you're here, thank God” and “Today I left here better than when I arrived, my headache is gone”. Thus, also with the support of established partnerships, healing continues to be an ancestral art of saying good things that promotes health and well-being, integrates practices with the community and contributes to valuing knowledge and recognizing environmental biodiversity, an important link between all beings in nature and in institutions.
